Frequently asked questions & how to prepare for your spray tan
How should I prepare for my spray tan?
Exfoliate (and shave, if desired) 24 hours before your appointment and avoid lotions, deodorants, perfumes, or makeup on the day of your tan. Wear loose, dark clothing to your appointment. Do not use any Dove soap products prior to your tan, they can cause streaks.
What should I wear during the spray tan?
You can wear whatever you're comfortable in! Most clients wear a thong, bathing suit or go nude to avoid tan lines. Disposable undergarments can also be provided. Just make sure your clothing is a dark color to avoid noticeable color transfer. Please also wear/bring loose-fitting, dark-colored garments to wear home afterwards incase your tan is still a bit tacky.
How long will my spray tan last?
Your spray tan typically lasts 5–7 days, depending on your skin type, aftercare, and how often you shower or exfoliate. Moisturizing daily can help extend its life.
Will the spray tan stain my clothes or sheets?
The bronzer may transfer slightly, especially in the first few hours. Wear dark, loose clothing and use dark sheets or towels. Most bronzer washes out easily in the laundry.
How soon can I shower after my spray tan?
Wait 8–12 hours (or as directed) before rinsing off with lukewarm water—no soap during the first rinse. For rapid tans, you can rinse off after 2–4 hours.
Can I workout or swim after getting a spray tan?
Avoid sweating, swimming, or getting wet for at least 24 hours after your tan. Water or sweat too soon can cause streaking or fading.
Is the solution safe for sensitive skin?
Yes! Our tanning solutions are vegan, paraben-free, and made for sensitive skin. Always let us know about any allergies or skin concerns.
Will I turn orange?
Not at all! Our custom-blended solutions are designed to match your skin tone and develop into a natural-looking bronze glow—never orange.
How dark will my tan be?
Your tan is customized based on your skin tone and desired result. We can go as light or dark as you like, and results will fully develop within 24 hours.
Can pregnant or breastfeeding women get spray tans?
Many expectant mothers choose spray tanning as a safer alternative to tanning beds. Always consult your doctor first, and we’ll avoid spraying the chest if you're breastfeeding.
How can I make my tan last longer?
Hydrate your skin daily with a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer, avoid long hot showers, and use sulfate-free body washes. Don’t exfoliate until you're ready for your next tan.
Can I shave before or after my tan?
Shave 24 hours before your appointment for best results. If needed, wait at least 24 hours after your spray tan before shaving again and use a gentle razor and cream.
